Disney Games aims to expand and become a big name in the industry, especially after promoting Sean Shoptaw to executive vice president.
Another promotion is that of Jay Ong, who has been working as a leader of the Marvel games team.
Now his role will be leading all the global games franchises and licensing.
Ong has previously worked at Marvel, and Blizzard Entertainment among others.
Additionally, Disney hired Ray Gresko, who previously worked as a chief development officer at Blizzard Entertainment, now serving as a senior VP, of product and development.
Gresko has Overwatch and Diablo III in his portfolio but also contributed to a playable prototype of Heartstone. His new role will include working closely with the development team of Epic Games.
Another new hire is Bjorn Tornqvist, who has been working at Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment for almost two decades, and now joins Disney Games as VP, games technology.
All three will report to Shoptaw and their goal is to deliver world-class story telling in this medium, according to Disney’s Consumer Products president Tasia Filippatos.
